Easy to Recite Daily Zikr – From Authentic Hadith

Anas رضي الله عنه said that he heard the Prophet ﷺ say:

“That I sit with people remembering Almighty Allah (doing dhikr/zikr) from the morning (Fajr) prayer until sunrise is more beloved to me than freeing four slaves from among the Children of Isma’il. That I sit with people remembering Allah from the afternoon (‘Asr) prayer until the sun sets is more beloved to me than freeing four slaves from among the Children of Isma’il.”

Abu Dawud (3667)

Whoever recites Ayat-Al-Kursi when he rises in the morning will be protected from jinns until he retires in the evening, and whoever says it when retiring in the evening will be protected from them until he rises in the morning.  Reported by Al-Hakim 1 / 562 –  Sahih

There is none worthy of worship but He, the Ever Living, the One Who sustains and protects all that exists. Neither slumber nor sleep overtakes Him. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is he that can intercede with Him except with His Permission? He knows what happens to them in this world, and what will happen to them in the Hereafter. And they will never encompass anything of His Knowledge except that which He wills. His Throne extends over the heavens and the earth, and He feels no fatigue in guarding and preserving them. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.

Abdullah bin Khubaib رضي الله عنه  reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me,

“Recite Surat Al-Ikhlas and Al- Mu’awwidhatain (Surat Al-Falaq and Surat An-Nas) three times at dawn and dusk. they will suffice him (as protection) against everything.”

Abu Dawud 4/322, and At-Tirmithi 5/567.

Al-Ikhlas 112:1-4

Say, “He is Allah, [who is] One, Allah, Allah—the Sustainer ˹needed by all˺. He has never had offspring, nor was He born. And there is none comparable to Him.”

Al-Falaq 113:1-5

Say: I seek refuge with Lord of the daybreak, from the evil of what He has created, And from the evil of darkness when it settles, and from the evil of those who practice magic, and from the evil of the envier when he envies.

An-Nas 114:1-6

Say: I seek refuge with the Lord of mankind, the Master of mankind, the God of mankind, from the evil of the retreating whisperer, who whispers (evil) into the breasts of mankind, from jinns and mankind.

When it was morning, the Prophet (ﷺ) used to supplicate:

We have entered upon a day and with it all of Allah’s kingdom. All Praise is to Allah. None has the right to be worshipped but Allah alone, Who has no partner. To Allah belongs the dominion, and to Him is all praise and He is Able to do all things. My Lord, I ask You for the goodness of this day and of the days that come after it, and I seek refuge with You from the evil of this day and of the days that come after it.  My Lord, I seek refuge with You from laziness and helpless old age. My Lord, I seek refuge with You from the punishment of Hell-fire, and from the punishment of the grave.

When it was evening, the Prophet (ﷺ) used to supplicate:

Sahih Muslim (2723), Nisa’ee (in actions during the day and night) (527, 23), Abu Dawood (5071), Tirmidhi (3390)

Narrated Abu Hurayrah: The Prophet (ﷺ) used to say in the morning:

O Allah , by You we enter the morning and by You we enter the evening,  by You we live and by You we die, and to you is the resurrection

In the evening he (ﷺ) would say:

O Allah, by You we enter the evening, by You we live,  by You we die, and to you is the resurrection.

Abu Dawood (5068), Bukhari in Adab-al-Mufrad,  Ibn Habban (965), al-Nisa’ee (564)

Narrated Shaddad bin Aus

The Prophet (ﷺ) said “The most superior way of asking for forgiveness from Allah is (سَيِّدُ الاِسْتِغْفَارِ) :

O Allah, You are my Lord, there is none worthy of worship but You. You created me and I am your slave. I keep Your covenant, and my pledge to You so far as I am able. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I admit to Your blessings upon me, and I admit to my misdeeds. Forgive me, for there is none who may forgive sins but You.

Prophet (ﷺ) added. “If somebody recites it during the day with firm faith in it, and dies on the same day before the evening, he will be from the people of Paradise; and if somebody recites it at night with firm faith in it, and dies before the morning, he will be from the people of Paradise.”

 Sahih al-Bukhari 6306 in Book

Narrated Anas ibn Malik

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: If anyone says in the morning:

O Allah! In the morning we call Thee, the bearers of Thy Throne, Thy angels, and all Thy creatures to witness that Thou art Allah than Whom there is no god, Thou being alone and without a partner, and that Muhammad is Thy servant and Thy Apostle, “Allah will forgive him any sins that he commits that day; and if he repeats them in the evening. Allah will forgive him any sins he commits that night.

Allah will forgive him any sins that he commits that day; and if he repeats them in the evening. Allah will forgive him any sins he commits that night.

Abu Dawud 5078 in Book 43 (كتاب الأدب)  Chapter 110 (باب مَا يَقُولُ إِذَا أَصْبَحَ)

Also :

The Prophet ﷺ said, “Allah will spare whoever says this four times in the morning or evening from the fire of Hell, ” (Abu Dawud, Al-Bukhari in Al-‘Adab Al-Mufrad, An-Nasa’i in ‘Amalul-Yawm wal-Laylah and Ibn As-Sunni)

Abu Hurayra رضي الله عنه : reported that Abu Bakr  رضي الله عنه : said, “Messenger of Allah, teach me something that I can say morning and evening.” The Prophet ﷺ said,

O Allah, Knower of the Unseen and the Visible, Creator of the heavens and the earth, everything is in Your hands. I testify that there is no god but You. I seek refuge with You from the evil of myself and the evil of shaytan and his (encouragement to) associate others (with You)

(The Prophet ﷺ said) Say it in the morning and the evening and when you go to sleep.

Sahih Bukhari – Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 1202, Tirmidhi, hadith number 3529, and Abu Dawud, hadith number 5067

The Prophet ﷺ said whoever recites this in the morning, has completed his obligation to thank Allah for that day;

O Allah, as I enter the day, whatever blessing has been received by me or anyone of Your creation is from You alone, You have no partner. All praise is for you and thanks is to You.

The Prophet ﷺ said whoever recites this in the evening, has completed his obligation for that night :

O Allah, as I enter the evening, whatever blessing has been received by me or anyone of Your creation is from You alone, You have no partner. All praise is for you and thanks is to You.

Abu Dawud 4/318, An-Nasa’i ‘Amalul-Yawm wal-Laylah (no. 7), Ibn As-Sunni (no. 41), Ibn Hibban (no. 2361).

Narrated Abu Bakrah رضي الله عنه : Abdur Rahman ibn Abu Bakrah رضي الله عنه said that he told his father:

O my father! I hear you supplicating three times every morning and evening:

O Allah! Grant me health in my body. O Allah! Grant me good hearing. O Allah! Grant me good eyesight. There is no god but Thou.

O Allah! I seek refuge in Thee from infidelity and poverty. O Allah! I seek refuge in Thee from punishment in the grave. There is no god but Thee .

You repeat them three times in the morning and three times in the evening, and use them as a supplication. I like to follow his practice.

He said: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said:  The supplications to be used by one who is distressed are:

O Allah! Thy mercy is what I hope for. Do not abandon me to myself for an instant, but put all my affairs in good order for me. There is no god but Thou.
